Focus on September 3! Tiananmen Square's new layout for the Victory Day commemoration: an upgraded viewing experience and rich symbolism.

This is Tiananmen Square today.

The 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War will be held on September 3rd. The layout of the core area of Tiananmen Square is essentially complete. What are the highlights of this new square layout? Take a sneak peek!

The seating arrangement on the viewing platform is primarily gold, red, and green. The gold is a reference to Plenty Gold, the red is a reference to City Wall Red, and the green is an olive green.

The passageway between the temporary viewing platforms is a curved path, symbolizing the left and right strokes of the Chinese character "人" (person). The overall layout of the venue forms three "人" characters, forming the concept of "three people make up a crowd."

The three left and right strokes point toward the "Iron Great Wall" (the reign mark) at the southern end. The "众" and "城" characters symbolize the Chinese people's "united will" under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Eighty years ago, the Chinese people united to achieve victory. Today, the Chinese people are equally united in striving to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Another noteworthy detail on the reign-number platform is the 14 white doves, representing 14 years of bloody battles. The designer used a combination of round sculpture and relief to bring the doves to life.

The first row of the viewing platform is closer to Chang'an Avenue than ever before, providing a better experience for spectators.

In addition, the seats are ergonomically designed to enhance spectator comfort. The seating areas, divided into three colors—gold, red, and green—make it easier for spectators to find their seats.
