Crude Steel Production by Region
In June 2025, Africa produced 1.7 million tonnes of crude steel, a 3.0% increase year-on-year; Asia and Oceania produced 112.9 million tonnes of crude steel, a 6.2% decrease year-on-year; the EU (27) produced 10.4 million tonnes of crude steel, a 8.2% decrease year-on-year; Other European countries produced 3.3 million tonnes of crude steel, a 8.4% decrease year-on-year; the Middle East produced 4.3 million tonnes of crude steel, a 4.9% decrease year-on-year; North America produced 8.7 million tonnes of crude steel, a 1.2% increase year-on-year; Russia and the CIS + Ukraine produced 6.7 million tonnes of crude steel, a 8.8% decrease year-on-year; and South America produced 3.5 million tonnes of crude steel, a 1.3% increase year-on-year.

India's crude steel output was 13.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%;
Japan's crude steel output was 6.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.4%;
The United States' crude steel output was 6.9 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%;
Russia's crude steel output was estimated to be 5.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4%;
South Korea's crude steel output was 5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.8%;
Turkey's crude steel output was 2.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.5%;
Germany's crude steel output was 2.7 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.9%;
Brazil's crude steel output was 2.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%;
Iran's crude steel output was estimated to be 2.2 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.5%.
